Name : Jameela Jamil
Date of Birth : February 25, 1986
Birth Place : London, England, UK
Nationality : British
Occupation : TV Presenter
Jameela Jamil grew up in London and before she had the chance to even dream of a television career, she had to face the scary possibility of never walking again in adulthood. After being struck by a car at the age of 17, the medical staff that was supervising her recovery informed Jameela that due to the intense spinal damage and broken bones, there was a serious chance that she would never be able to walk again.
In 2008 she applied for a job at Channel 4 and after screen tests was picked to present the Music Zone on E4. She’s been presenting T4 since 2009 and replaced Alexa Chung on the weekday morning music show Freshly Squeezed that same year.
A trend-setting fashionista, you’ll often find Jameela plastered across fashion mags. She’s modelled for Vogue, been photographed by David Bailey and hosted her own weekly online fashion advice show called The Closet in 2009. Jameela’s also been trying out for Radio 1 and the word on the street is she could land her own Radio 1 show very soon.
Jameela Jamil is very easy on the eyes, which makes her the ideal presenter to be staring back at viewers from the other side of their televisions -- especially if she happens to be wearing short shorts, a retro skirt or her personal favorite, an oversize cardigan. A woman who models herself after the style and sass of the legendary Sophia Loren, Jameela has used the aftermath of an early car accident to embrace her curvy body and project sexiness through the confidence that comes from dressing comfortably. As she often espouses the importance of being comfortable with oneself, she has the admiration of women who look up to her without feeling alienated and the sexy adoration of men who find her irresistibly attractive.
