It is featured in the John Lewis Christmas 2010 TV advert in the UK. After touring most of the year in 2010 Goulding says in early 2011 she plans to take about a month off to disappear and write songs for her second album. In 2011 she will take on her first American tour after the American release of Bright Lights and see the release of her collaboration with Tinie Tempah when his single “Wonderman” is released. In a blog entry for her American record label Goulding confirmed the title track from Lights would be the title track “Lights”, originally only available as an iTunes Bonus Track, would now serve as her album’s sixth single, the second for Bright Lights. The music video for Lights surfaced on Monday 17 January across many blog and forum sites. In early 2011 she recorded an original song entitled A Day At A Time for the film Life in a Day that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in late January 2011.

She was born in Everett, Massachusetts and has three sisters and two brothers. She served cocktails in Miami, for two years. In Miami she met photographer Andrew Rosenthal and they were romantically involved for some time. While bar-tending at the SoHo Bar & Grill, New York City in 1996, she was approached by an agent to appear in commercials. She did commercials for L’Oreal and Citibank. Pompeo’s next high-profile project was Steven Spielberg’s “Catch Me If You Can” (2002) In it, Pompeo played one of the long string of women that Frank Abagnole (Leonardo DiCaprio) cons, loves, and leaves. On a roll, Pompeo landed a short-but-sweet part in big-screen adaptation based on the Marvel Comics icon “Daredevil” (2002) as Karen Page, the loyal secretary of Daredevil’s alter ego, a.k.a. Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck). Unfortunately for Pompeo, the sweet role wound up to be more short than sweet: Finding that the Karen-Matt subplot of unrequited love detracted from the primary romance between Daredevil and Electra (Jennifer Garner), most of Pompeo’s scenes were left on the cutting room floor.

She was born Ellen Philpotts-Page in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the 21st of February, 1987. Her mother, Martha Philpotts, was a primary school teacher - she'd later teach First and Second Grade at the Ecole Grosvenor-Wentworth Park School in Halifax. Ellen's father was Dennis Page, a graphic designer hailing from Lockeport, a small fishing village with a population of some 700, on an island in Ragged Islands Bay near the south end of Nova Scotia. Dennis had been married before, giving Ellen a stepbrother and stepsister. He and Martha would split when Ellen was young, though both would be heavily involved in her upbringing. Later he'd marry again, to Debbie. 

In 2002, Page continued her busy schedule. She appeared in the Canadian TV series, "Trailer Park Boys," which received a Gemini nomination for best ensemble cast, and "Rideau Hall," as well as the Canadian feature films, "Marion Bridge," and "The Wet Season."
