Dancer and Los Angeles native Carmit Bachar (b. September 4, 1974) is the only member of the Pussycat Dolls held over from the days when the multi-platinum-selling pop group was still just a burlesque act on the Sunset Strip. Prior to the Dolls, Bachar competed internationally as a rhythmic gymnast and placed fifth in the Olympic rhythmic gymnastics trials in 1992.
As a freelance dancer she has appeared with several rock and pop idols. Carmit Bachar was the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” girl in Ricky Martin’s world tour in ’99. In 2000 she appears on stage with Gwen Stefani during “Bathwater” in No Doubt’s DVD Rock Steady Live. In 2004 she was a dancer for Janet Jackson (during the infamous peek-a-boo Superbowl half-time(and half naked) show). Carmit Bachar was also a dancer for Beyonce. She appears in Beyonce’s music videos “Crazy In Love” and “Baby Boy“.
Carmit Bachar - artist, performer, television personality, and philanthropist - is best known as the only original member of multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated recording group The Pussycat Dolls (Interscope/A&M Records). As one of the three main vocalists in the burlesque-inspired girl group along with Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thornton, this distinctive red-haired beauty with the sultry voice rose to international fame as an overnight pop sensation with The Pussycat Dolls' chart-topping hit singles including "Don't Cha," "Buttons," and "StickWitU." Their debut album PCD (2005) sold almost 7 million albums and spawned a phenomenon that dominated the teen market and beyond, including PCD clothing, the interactive PCD Music Lounge, and The Pussycat Dolls Lounge in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace. Carmit was also featured with the Dolls in several episodes of The CW's hit reality show "The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" and in campaigns for Cingular Wireless and the 2007 NBA season.
On 18. March 2010, rapper Detroit Diamond released an EP which featured a track with Bachar titled "Something 'Bout You", as well as her solo songs "Fierce" and "Cream". The EP, produced by Jared Lee Gosselin, is available on HMV.com.hk and also on iTunes and Amazon as digital download.
