Candice Swanepoel's rise to stardom is the stuff fairy tales are made of. As a young girl growing up in the remote South African farming village Mooi River, Swanepoel's model aspirations were literally oceans away. Once she was discovered, Candice met with the head of a local modeling agency.
Since her discovery when she was 15 in her small South African town, Candice Swanepoel has turned heads. As a young girl she harbored aspirations of conquering the catwalk, and after appearing in ad campaigns for Nike, Diesel, Guess, and catwalk duties for Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Tommy Hilfiger, and Diane Von Furstenberg, she's done just that. In 2008, Swanepoel took her career to the next level, appearing in the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, and being named one of Victoria's Secrets Angels. Since then, Candice Swanepoel has been one of the hottest properties in fashion.
Within a year she had appeared in Italian Vogue and was walking catwalks for major designers. Swanepoel has since appeared on the covers of international editions of Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and many other magazines. In 2007 she first appeared in the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on American TV, and she quickly became a regular and popular face of the brand. She appeared in the 2008-10 editions of the show as well.
