Erin O'Connor was born on February 9, 1978, in Brownhills in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, England. Her mother worked at a nursery school, while her father was a welder. Erin O'Connor had aspirations of becoming a schoolteacher before a fateful encounter changed the course of her life. In 1995, while on a school trip to the Birmingham Clothes Show, she was spotted by a Models 1 scout. The first images of her that appeared in print were shot by Juergen Teller and published in i-D magazine in 1996.

In the eyes of the majority of male fashion designers, Erin O’Connor may actually possess the perfect body to work with. Amongst the general male population that prefers curvier models in bikinis, however, this English waif's physique wouldn't garner the same sort of enthusiastic reaction. She's always been naturally thin, and by her own account flat-chested, but we're sure she'll look sexier after she stops modeling and ultimately feels less pressure to maintain her slight, androgynous build.
