Whitney Port Biography

Birth Name: Whitney Eve Port
Birth Place: Los Angeles, CA
Date of Birth / Zodiac Sign: 03/04/1985, Pisces
Profession: Reality cast member; fashion designer

Whitney Eve Port (born on March 4, 1985) is a clothing designer, model, television personality and occasional actress. She is mostly known for her major role on the former MTV reality series, The Hills. She is also a former fashion contributor for Teen Vogue and worked in the past for Diana von Fürstenberg.

She was born and grew up in Los Angeles, California and after attending Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences, she graduated in 2007 from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in gender studies.

Early life

Port was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she currently resides. She is the daughter of Jeffery and Vicki Lyn Port (née Woskoff). She is the second youngest of five brothers and sisters. Her father, Jeff, is the owner of a fashion company called Swarm.

Education

Whitney attended Warner Avenue Elementary school and was the school President in the 5th grade, while her sister Paige was school Secretary that same year. She then went to Crossroads School (Santa Monica, California) for the Arts and Sciences for middle school and high school.
In 2007, Whitney graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in gender studies.

Personal life

In a recent interview in Teen Vogue with Lauren Conrad, Whitney said that Lauren and Audrina Patridge had invited her to move in their apartment, but she declined the offer.
As of 2007, Whitney's parents, her brother, Ryan, her sisters, Paige, Jade and Ashley, also live in Los Angeles, California.
Whitney is currently dating Jay G. Lyon, of the New York-based band, Tamarama.

Teen Vogue

The final episode of season two showed Whitney interviewing at "Vogue" headquarters in New York, New York for the position of 'Fashion Contributor' at "Teen Vogue". The episode dramatized the competition between Whitney and another young woman, Emily Weiss, who had previously appeared in season two as an intern visiting from New York. It was revealed in the season premiere of season three that Whitney was awarded the job, and was employed by Teen Vogue in Los Angeles.

Model

In episode six of the first season, Port had her first experience as a runway model. She walked in a DKNY Jeans show at Los Angeles Fashion Week.
Whitney again plays the role of model in episode eleven, when she appears on a "Good Morning America" segment with André Leon Talley the editor-at-large of "Vogue" magazine. When modeling Hilary Swank's dress from the 2005 Academy Awards, Whitney tripped and fell during the live televised segment, but composed herself after the slip. Lisa Love, a "Teen Vogue" editor and Whitney's supervisor, praised her for handling the incident with class and grace under fire.

79 Sex Appeal

Unlike her fame-seeking costars, Whitney Port has never been entirely comfortable with the notoriety that goes with a featuring role on a show as high profile as The Hills. She even went so far as to turn down an opportunity to move in with Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge in the series’ third season, explaining: “I prefer to keep some things private.” It’s consequently not surprising to note that her love life was always kept off-camera during her time on The Hills. However, this has certainly started to change with The City, as she had a far-from-private romance with a musician named Jay Lyon. Whitney Port’s sun-bleached, girl-next-door good looks have certainly ensured that her profile continues to rise as more opportunities come her way, and it does seem as though she’s destined to spend a good portion of her professional (and personal) life in the public spotlight.

An MTV Match

After showing her Whitney Eve clothing collection during New York Fashion Week, Port begins dating fellow MTV reality star Ben Nemtin of the bucket-list series The Buried Life. By March things heat up when Nemtin helps celebrate Port's 25th birthday at an intimate bash in L.A.
