After moving back to Madrid in 2002,she worked for an American investment bank. She is supposedly the second couisin of the former tabloid editor Piers. Loos sold her story to the British tabloid newspaper News of the World in April 2004, claiming that the two of them had had a whirlwind affair that included text messages of a sexual nature. The story generated a huge amount of publicity in the tabloid press, launching Loos's cheap fling in the public eye.
Before April of 2004, the public had no idea who Rebecca Loos was. All that changed when a British tabloid carried the news that Rebecca, a personal assistant to much-loved English soccer player David Beckham, alleged to have carried on a four-month affair with the man. The athlete vehemently denied the report, but that didn't stop the outspoken Rebecca from becoming a much-talked about personality.
