Ines Sastre was born the 21st of November 1973, in Valladolid, Spain. Her film career all started when a 12-year-old Ines went to audition for a fast-food commercial with a friend of hers. She was cast in the commercial, which led to her film debut. It was hard not to notice the hazel-eyed brunette, and director Carlos Saura sure took notice. He knew she'd be perfect for the role of Elvira in the 1987 film, El Dorado.
Ines Sastre returned to cinema in Italy to play for two of the most famous Italian directors; Michelangelo Antonioni in "Beyond the Clouds" (1996) together with John Malkovitch, Sophie Marceau and Fanny Ardant, and Pupi Avati in "The Best Man" (1998).
Ines Sastre also made a noticeable return to French cinema starring as Epona, the wife of Vercingetorix, in "Druids" (2001) by Jacques Dorfmann, alongside Max von Sidow and Christophe Lambert. That same year Ines shone alongside Guillaume Canet and Andre Dussolier as a manipulative courtesan in "Vidocq" by Pitof, were she was reunited with the infamous Gerard Depardieu that she had previously starred with in the TV mini-series "The Count of Monte-Cristo" by Josee Dayan.
Two shooting occured in 1999. In Spring, Ines did a movie in Argentina with director Javier Torre : she acts the role of Argentinian writer Estela Canto, a friend of Jorge Luis Borges. In October, she started to shoot a new movie in Bulgaria with Christophe Lambert and director Jacques Dorfmann: she has the leading female role in this movie about the Gallic chief Vercingetorix. In 2000, Ines was selected as the leading host of the Italian Music Festival of San Remo (21st/26th of February). It's a kind of consecration for Ines which underlines her popularity in Italy.
