Claire Forlani was born July 1st, 1972, in Middlesex, England. The daughter of an Italian father and British mother, an 11-year-old Claire attended the Arts Educational School in London where she began her pursuit of being a performer. The Arts Educational School gave her 6 years of dance and drama training, which she executed in her stage performances of The Nutcracker Ballet and Orpheus in the Underworld. With a couple of theatre credits under her belt, the actress/dancer got her showbiz start on British television.

In 1996, she played Jade, Sean Connery's daughter in the blockbuster hit, The Rock, sharing the screen with stars like Connery and Nicolas Cage. That same year, she also made an appearance in Basquait and starred in the independent film Garage Sale. In 1997 she starred in the critically-acclaimed role in The Last Time I Committed Suicide that would compensate for the previous disappointing movies. She also had the smarts to quit her role in Deep Rising, which could have killed her career.

In 1998 she starred in Meet Joe Black, a grim movie which made everyone wonder who the breathtaking beauty that won Brad Pitt's heart on the big screen was. Claire was hailed by Vanity Fair as one of 1998's up and comers. During the same year, she appeared in Basil with Christian Slater and the romantic comedy Into My Heart.

In 1999, she starred in the summer action film Mystery Men. She finished her work in the indie comedy film Magicians, with Alan Arkin and co-starred with Freddie Prinze Jr. in Boys and Girls. She also co-starred Ryan Phillippe and Rachael Leigh Cooke in the thriller Anti-Trust and the comedy Going Greek and with Jackie Chan in The Medallion.

After a small but memorable role in "Mystery Men" (1999), she teamed with Freddie Prinze Jr. for the romantic comedy "Boys and Girls" (2000) and went blonde to co-star in the drama "Anti-Trust" (2001). Forlani toiled in smaller projects for a while, resurfacing in the Polish brothers' art house hit "Northfork" (2003) as one of the townspeople who are about to see their hometown flooded by the arrival of a hydroelectric dam. The actress also made for a comely sidekick/love interest for Jackie Chan in the English language Hong Kong actioner "The Medallion" (2003), and played the wife of iconic golf champion Bobby Jones (Jim Caviezel) in "Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius" (2004). She next appeared in the brutally violent sports drama, "Green Street Hooligans" (2005), playing the sister of an expelled Harvard student (Elijah Woods) who flees to her home in England and is introduced to the underground world of football hooliganism by her brother-in-law (Charlie Hunnam).
