Chyler Leigh Biography

Birth Name: Chyler Leigh Potts
Birth Place: Charlotte, NC
Date of Birth / Zodiac Sign: 04/10/1982, Aries
Profession: Actress, model

Born on April 10, 1982, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Chyler Leigh Potts -- she dropped the "Potts" when she started acting -- grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At age 12, she moved to Miami, Florida, with her mother. About two years later, Chyler began modeling, having sought out the opportunity after receiving encouragement from her friends.
Boasting a pretty face, Chyler Leigh was a natural when it came to starring in ads and soon enough, she was featured in several local television commercials. Her first serious gig as an actress came in 1996, when she began cohosting the show Hall Pass. The following year she landed a brief role on a children's show called Kinetic City Super Crew.

Chyler Leigh is probably best known as yet for the role she played in Not Another Teen Movie, a spoof comedy released in 2001 wherein she played Janey Briggs, a spin on the typecast ugly duckling character that forms part of the ensemble for typical coming-of-age teen movies. It is her only film to date where she got major exposure as an actress; her big screen debut, however, happened in 1997 when she played a small role in Kickboxing Academy.

The body of work Chyler Leigh has is more concentrated currently on television. In 1996, she acted as co-host for the teen show Hall Pass. She also had roles in Kinetic City Super Crew and Safe Harbor. TV Producer David E. Kelley, creator of The Practice and Boston Legal, put her in the cast of The Practice in 2003. Following her stint at The Practice are parts in Rocky Point and North Shore, both aired in 2005.

In Hollywood, we have seen the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff rise from child and teen superstardom and get lifted up to higher levels of fame as they push through their twenties. Joining their ranks is another twenty-something who is going the same path that Lohan and Duff walked on, and she is truly worth watching out for.
