Camila Alves was born on January 28, 1982, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After high school, she moved to New York to pursue acting and modeling, and earned a certificate from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Upon arriving in the United States at the age of 15, Brazilian-born, Camila Alves, dedicated herself to multiple ventures and continues to build her brand. She got her start when she signed with a New York modeling agency, landing her first contract, which ultimately ran as a billboard in Times Square.

Shortly thereafter, Camila Alves began receiving offers. She became one of the sexy coveted lingerie models for Triumph (Matthew, when you're girlfriend appears shirtless, it's a totally different story than when you do it). In 2002, she had an uncredited bit part in the Walt Disney movie Snow Dogs, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. but that's not exactly something you write home about, or mention... ever.

In the beginning of her modelling career, Camila modelled for Triumph's lingeries. She was also seen in a variety of television commercials. As the beginning of her acting career, Camila was spotted in a side-role in Walt Disney's Snow Dogs. Apart from these, she also appeared in music videos for popular artists, viz. "Pulling Me Back" by Chingy in 2006 and "Because Of You" by Ne-Yo in 2007.

As a new mom, Alves has partnered with Lucky Brand to launch of line of diaper bags. Produced under the Lucky Kids label, the bags were launched in November 2009. The line incorporates both the aesthetic and functionality required by today’s busy and stylish moms.

Matthew McConaughey is one lucky dude, especially considering he refuses to wear deodorant and loves playing the bongos. Seriously, if it weren't for his looks, dude would be a social leper, especially the way he gallivants around town like a little school girl with his bestie Lance Armstrong. But back to Camila. She might be more famous for being McConaughey's arm candy than she is for being a model, but she looks damn good doing it. We've never actually seen any of the Brazilian model's campaigns, but we believe her when she says she's a model.
