Ashley Roberts was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She began dancing at the age of 3, and singing at the age of 8. Ashley Roberts’ father was a drummer who played for the Mamas and the Papas. During high school summer breaks Ashley Roberts had traveled to the West Coast to study modern dance. After high school Ashley moved permanently to Los Angeles. She appeared in TV commercials and a Counting Crows video. Her nickname in the band was “Barbie doll”, but realizing that there already was a “Barbie doll”, changed it to “Angel doll”.

In her career, Ashley Roberts has appeared in television commercials and music videos such as Counting Crows “Accidentally in Love”, Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up”, Jane’s Addiction’s “True Nature”, Aaron Carter’s “Oh Aaron” and “Not Too Young, Not Too Old” and Pink’s “Trouble”. Ashley Roberts has also appeared in the game show “Rock and a Hard Place”, hosted by Meatloaf, with fellow PCD members, Melody Thornton and Carmit Bachar.

Her career in the Pussycat Dolls (The Pussycat Dolls (PCD) are an American girl group and dance ensemble founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995 as a burlesque troupe based in Los Angeles (LA), California (CA), United State of America (USA).), within six months of Ashley Roberts’s move, Ashley Roberts had joined the Pussycat Dolls. After three years of performing with the burlesque group Ashley Roberts moved on to join the recording Pussycat Dolls along with members Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta and Kimberly Wyatt. Ashley Roberts sang co-lead along with Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta in the “Stickwitu” single b-side, “Santa Baby”. Ashley Roberts also recorded a song called “Played” for the Doll Domination Deluxe Edition. As with the other group members Ashley Roberts is a salaried employee of Interscope Records. Shortly after Kimberly Wyatt’s news broke, Ashley Roberts on February 29, 2010 made the following announcement on her website in a letter to her fans: “Yes, I have left the Pussycat Dolls..I love you all sooo much!!! I am so grateful to have the love and support of all of you. It was an amazing ride and I learned so much! You all mean the world to me and I’m excited to take you all on a new adventure. An adventure full of creativity, inspiration, learning, growing and lots of fun.”
