Anja Rubik was born on June 12, 1985, in Czestochowa, Poland. Anja Rubik spent the majority of her childhood moving from country to country, with her family, at one time or another, calling Canada, South Africa and Greece home. Anja Rubik’s childhood dreams of becoming a model were fulfilled after she entered a local contest in 2000, and ultimately walked away with a contract from a Parisian modeling agency. Later that year, Anja Rubik made her professional debut with a series of appearances on the catwalk for such esteemed labels as Givenchy and Nina Ricci.
In the year 2000, she was signed up by a modeling agency from Paris after she took part in a modeling competition. During late 2000, she walked the ramp professionally for the first time for brands like Nina Ricci and Givenchy. But she didn't start modeling full time until her education was completed. In 2002, Anja moved to New York.
In 2006, Anja was taken into a modeling contract by Estee Lauder. She was also seen the the campaign of Dolce & Gabbana. Apart from this, Anja opened the spring show for designer Valentino. That year she was seen in the magazine Numero's cover. In 2007, she was signed up by Estee Lauder Beautiful and appeared in a number of famous magazines. In 2008, Anja Rubik appeared in the magazine V. She also endorsed the perfume Chloe.
Rubik is featured in the 2009 fitness video game Yoga Wii for the Wii home console. She was also an inspiration for a character in the manga "The One" as the main character Cane Lele. In 2010, she appeared on Top Model. Zostań modelką, the Polish edition of America's Next Top Model. Rubik is featured in the 2011 Pirelli Calendar photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
