Amanda Joy AJ Michalka, often credited as AJ, is an American actress, singer-songwriter, and musician. She was a model prior to becoming an actress, and is best known as one-half of the duo 78violet with her sister Aly Michalka. She decides to join her father’s old manager, play country music and the movie focuses on her return journey to God. AJ plays guitar and sings in the movie and does a fantastic job.

AJ Michalka and Aly begged their parents for the opportunity to perform in the industry. Her parents prayed about it for a long while and even talked to their pastor at the time. Their mother realized how strong her girls’ passion was for performing and realized that it was instilled by God and both parents decided to be supportive of their daughters’ dream. Amanda is an accomplished musician, singer and published songwriter. She is proficient at both the piano and the guitar. She is recorded her first CD with her sister Aly (Aly Michalka) as 78violet. This CD was a compilation of their original guitar-driven songs, and was released into the mainstream market. Amanda's hobbies are dance, cooking, horseback riding, mountain biking, reading and hanging out with her puppy, Willow, and family. Her dog Saint died on June 16, 2007.
