Alexander Rae "Alec" Baldwin was born on April 3 1958 in Amityville, New York, United States. He is a famous American actor, film producer and comedian who has appeared on film, stage and television. As a member of the Baldwin family, he is the oldest of the four Baldwin brothers, all well-known actors.

Alec Baldwin landed his first television role as Billy Aldrich in The Doctors, a daytime soap opera in the 1980s. In 1993 he married actress Kim Basinger, whom he met on the set of the 1991 film The Marrying Man. Their union, which produced daughter Ireland, ended in 2002, though their custody battles have remained tabloid fodder in the years since. Despite such personal issues, Baldwin has enjoyed continued professional success, starring in the sitcom 30 Rock and remaining one of Saturday Night Live's most popular guest hosts. In 2010, Baldwin took on yet another high-profile gig, cohosting the 82nd annual Academy Awards with Steve Martin.

Baldwin was also given roles in 2000’s Thomas and the Magic Railroad and State and Main. He also starred in six episodes of the series Clerks before appearing on the film Pearl Harbor. In 2003, he was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the gambling drama The Cooler. Alec Baldwin played CIA hero Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October, the 1990 movie based on Tom Clancy's spy novel; the role was taken over by Harrison Ford for two sequels, Patriot Games 1992 and A Clear and Present Danger 1994, and then by Ben Affleck for The Sum of All Fears 2002.
