Christina Applegate Biography

Name : Christina Applegate
Date of Birth : 25 November 1971, Hollywood, California, USA
Height : 5' 5" (1.65 m)
Occupation : Actress

Christina is the daughter of record producer Robert Applegate and singer-actress, Nancy Priddy. Her parents split-up shortly after her birth. She has two half-siblings from her father's re-marriage - Alisa (b. 10 October 1977) & Kyle (b. 15 July 1981). Alisa and Christina are best friends and even lived together while Alisa was going to college. Christina's mother took her along on all of her auditions and acting jobs. She made her acting debut at age five months, when her mother got her in a commercial for Playtex nursers.

A true child of Hollywood, Christina Applegate first rose to fame as a teenager by playing the angel-faced yet promiscuous half-wit Kelly Bundy on Fox's gleefully trashy sitcom "Married... With Children" (1987-1997). She had been a working actress since she was an infant, but Applegate managed to escape the fate of so many child actors by steering clear of the seductive Hollywood lifestyle; instead carving out a respectable adult career with her own sitcom "Jesse" (1998-2000) and a recurring role as real-life buddy Jennifer Aniston's sister on "Friends" (NBC, 1994-2004), which earned her an Emmy Award. Applegate also enjoyed a few big screen successes with comedies "The Sweetest Thing" (2002) and "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" (2004). She also surprisingly took Broadway by storm with a Tony-nominated role in Bob Fosse's "Sweet Charity" and earned the love and respect of fans during her successful 2008 fight against breast cancer. That same year, Applegate earned Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for her runaway fall hit "Samantha Who?" (ABC, 2007-09) in which she starred as an amnesia patient trying to rebuild a new life with hilarious and often poignant results. After a high-profile battle with breast cancer in 2008, her series was canceled the following year, only to pave the way for her next hit, "Up All Night" (NBC, 2011- ), which solidified her status as one of the top comedic actresses on network television.
